Overnight Occurrences

Lakeshore:

Break and Enters in Lakeshore.
A cottage near the 15260 block of Couture Beach was entered sometime between Jan. 1st and Jan. 21st.  One of the windows had been broken and two doors were damaged.  The cottage was ransacked but nothing appears to have been stolen.

Between Jan. 12th and Jan. 21st a residence near the 17690 block was broken into.  An air rifle and a bow and arrow were stolen.

Between Jan. 8th and Jan. 21st a residence near 15490 block was broken into.  An 1800’s model handgun (unsure if it was operational) and a Bobby Orr signed jersey along with 2 diamond rings were stolen.

21 January: A 19 year old Amherstburg woman has been charged with Stunt Driving – Street Racing.  At 2:25 a.m. a Lakeshore OPP officer stopped a 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt on County Road 19 near County Road 46 for driving 137 km/hr in the 80 km/hr zone.  The driver was charged, her licence is suspended and her vehicle impounded for 7 days.

Tecumseh:

22 January:  At 12:48 a.m. a Tecumseh OPP Officer was on routine patrol on County Road 42 in Tecumseh when she observed a gray pick-up truck traveling eastbound.  The rear licence plate light was burnt out.  A vehicle stop was conducted.  The officer observed that the validation sticker had expired in July 2005.  The officer detected a strong odour of marijuana emanating from the driver and the vehicle.  The driver handed approximately 1 gram of a loose green leafy substance believed to be marijuana to the officer.  The driver, a 33 year old Lakeshore man was arrested.  He was released on an appearance notice charged with possession of marijuana, with a court date of March 2nd.  Additionally he was served three part 3 summons charged with:  Improper Number Plate light, Drive Motor vehicle – no currently validated permit and Drive motor vehicle with no insurance, court date of Feb. 23rd.

Kingsville:

21 January:  On Wednesday the 21st of January, 2009 between 7:00 p.m. and Jan. 22nd at 6:40 a.m. a Break and Enter occurred to a residence near the 120 block of Heritage Road.  Culprit(s) kicked in the front door of the residence.  Items stolen include; Sanyo TV, 32” LCD, Sony PlayStation III, Dell Laptop Computer (2yrs old), Camcorder, Digital Camera, DVD Player.  Anyone with information is asked to contact Essex County OPP 519-723-2491 or Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-8477.

A residence near the 120 block of County Road 50 was entered sometime overnight.  The residence was ransacked, unknown what was stolen from the residence.

A 2005 silver Honda Civic was stolen from they commuter parking lot at Highway 3 and County Road 23.  The vehicle was stolen sometime between 7:30 a.m. – 3:25 p.m. on Jan. 21st.
