Lakeshore:

Change and jewellery was stolen from a residence on County Road 37.  Entry was gained via the rear door of the residence.

Daytime break and enter to a residence near the 1950 block of County Road 19.  Culprits kicked in door to gain entry.  The residence was ransacked and jewellery was stolen.

Follow-up to Essex County OPP Arrest of 7 Toronto Residents

July 23rd, 2008

On the 22nd of July 2008 members of the Ontario Provincial Police acted on information pertaining to forged credit cards and fraudulent financial transactions using stolen credit card information. 

At 4:44 p.m., the physical surveillance team assisted by members of the Essex County OPP conducted a vehicle stop of a 2008 Chevy Cobalt east bound on the Highway 401 west of Queens Line, Chatham-Kent.  As a result, the 3 occupants of the vehicle were arrested on reasonable grounds for the offence of Fraud over $5000.

Hwy 401:

Essex County OPP traffic unit conducted radar in the construction zone of Highway 401.  Results: 17 speeding tickets were issued to drivers travelling between 25 and 38 km/hr over the posted 80-km/hr speed limit.  Drivers are reminded to slow down!

Lakeshore:

Overnight, culprit(s) stole scrap copper from a gated business on Markham Road.  Thieves cut the lock to gain access to the premises.  This is the 2nd theft from the business within 3 days.  Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-8477.

Essex County OPP Arrest 7 for Theft and Fraud Offences

On Tuesday July 22nd 2008 the Essex County Criminal Investigations unit in conjunction with the Essex County Emergency Response Team arrested seven (7) Toronto residents. 
These arrests have stemmed from an ongoing investigation over the last several months pertaining to fraud related offences utilizing stolen credit cards within Windsor and Essex County.

At 4:30p.m July 22nd 2008, a Chevrolet Cobalt was stopped on Hwy 401 eastbound west of Queens Line in Chatham Kent.  Two males and a female (54) were arrested at this location pertaining to the above fraud related offences.

Citizens Need to Lock Their Vehicles and Remove Valuables!!

Kingsville:

Five (5) more thefts from UNLOCKED vehicles in Kingsville.  The thefts occurred near the 1000 block of Road 2 East, the 1300 block of Patricia Blvd and the 1500 block of Kratz Side Road.  The vehicles were entered sometime between 1:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m on July 21st.  Stolen: a large sum of money (approximately $700.00 was left in an unlocked vehicle), change and small items.

Suspicious Fire in Kingsville

The Essex OPP Crime Unit is investigating a suspicious fire that occurred at a residence in Kingsville.  On Saturday, July 19th at 8:28 p.m. Kingsville OPP assisted Kingsville Fire Dept at a residence fire located at 1715 Kratz Side Road.  Upon arrival it was observed that the residence was currently for sale. The residence is described as a side split ranch with a 2 car garage on 14 acres of property.  According to the owner the residence was vacant the day of the fire. 

The OPP is interested in speaking to anyone with information pertaining to the fire or anyone observed in the area prior to the fire occurring.  Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-8477 or Essex OPP Crime Unit 519-723-2491.
